SENARU - PLAWANGAN CRATER RIM - SEGARA ANAK - SUMMIT
D1 : SINGAPORE > LOMBOK > SENARU (610 m)
Check in 2 hours before your flight departure. FLY SIN – LOMBOK. Upon arrival, you will pick up and sent to Pondok Indah-Senaru Hotel for the night (2hours drive).O/N in local guesthouse (w attached bathroom).
D2 : SENARU > MONTONG SATAS (1,500 m) > MONDOKON LOLAK > PLAWANGAN CRATER RIM (2,641 m)
Wake Up early for the transfer to the RINJANI TREK CENTRE (RTC), where you will register your climb. This is where you will meet your guides and porters, and some registration administrations will be cleared. The RTC Staff briefing explains the route details, local cultural traditions and what you might see, and list rubbish management and safety procedures. The first hours of the Trek Climb steeply through thick Tropical Forest Rich in Flora, Bird Life and a Variety of Butterflies. If lucky, you might even chance upon the rest Black Ebony Leaf Monkey, known locally is Lutung. Rest stops are taken along the way , and at post 2 Montong Satas Shelter (1,500 m). Village stories and local legends are related by your guide. Features include the Banyan tree Bunut Ngengkang that looks like someone standing with their legs apart, and the Batu Penyesalan Stone. Depending on your preference and weather conditions, the rights camp is made either in the forest at post 3 Mondokon Lolak (2,000 m) after about five hours climb from Senaru, or you continue the ascent for another couple of hours through grassy meadows to Plawangan I Senaru Crater Rim at 2,641 m. at the Crater Rim, you will be meet with sweeping views across the Lake Segara Anak (2,000 m) all the way to the Summit of Mt. Rinjani. Sunset here is awesome. Within the Crater, you will see Gunung Baru (2,351 m) – still an active Volcano, its last eruption being in 1994. on a clear evening, the Gili islands, neighboring Bali and Gunung Agung can be seen to the West. D3 : PLAWANGAN CRATER RIM (2,641 m) > SEGARA ANAK (2,000 m) > PLAWANGAN SEMBALUN (2,639 m)
After Breakfast, you move down to the Lake Segara Anak (2,000 m) within the Rinjani Crater. Return down through the ridge, passing numerous Edelweiss plants @ Bunga Abadi to the Crater Rim Camp for a well-deserved Lunch. it takes two to three hours down the steep trail to the Crater Lake. Go on a quick exploration of the Hot Springs, believe to have healing powers. After Breakfast, leave the Lake and Climb for three hours up to Plawangan Sembalun. O/N in Tents (B.L.D.).
D4 : PLAWANGAN SEMBALUN (2,639 m) > SUMMIT (3,726) > SENARU
You begin your Summit attempt at 03.00 am. It will be a hard 3 hours climb to the Summit of Mt. RINJANI (3,726 m). You are climbing on Volcanic screen slopes, for every two steps taken, you slide down one. Be cautious. Sunrise will be on your left as you trudge up the slope to the Summit point at 3,726 m. But once you arrive at the Summit, you know it was a well worth 3 hours exertion! After the Summit shots, brace yourself for the descent down to Plawangan Sembalun to have Breakfast. Break camp and commence your downhill trek Sembalun Village. The descent from the Sembalun Crater Rim is amidst Pine trees – like the Casuarina species locally known as Cemara, perhaps seeing evidence of wild pigs and the long tailed gray Macaque Monkeys. After about 3,5 hours, you rich post 3 Pada Balong (1,800 m) through grasslands used for cattle grazing by the local Mt. Rinjani’s Summit (3,726 m) towers above us. From here you get a beautiful view of Sembalun Lawang and Sembalun Bumbung Villages. Proceed down the trail to Sembalun Lawang (1,156 m) where you transport awaits to Senaru. O/N in Hotel (B.L.).
D5 : MATARAM > SINGAPORE
After Breakfast, you are free for your own activities. You may request for a late check out, subject to availability of rooms and by 1,600 hours, you should be pick up for your transfer to the airport for your return flight home to Singapore. LOMBOK – SINGAPORE. HOME.
